Miss Iraq contest For the first time in 40 years
Girls participated in the Miss Iraq contest, during the preparatory activities, Thursday, in the archaeological sites of the ancient kingdom of Babylon, south of Baghdad, note that the first competition for the beauty queen was 40 years ago in Iraq, and will be held on Saturday.
The competition has already come under condemnation and the threat of local religious hard-liners, and there are some of them have issued death threats, so the competition was postponed from October to December.
The organizers believe that this event could give the country hope and vitality.
They also delete the episodes of the competition such as displaying a swimsuit, making the contest more in line with social norms and customs of the country.
It will be selected ten semifinalists winners to participate in a beauty pageant which will be held in Thailand and Egypt contest.
Posts and hopes to represent their country to compete and offer better picture of Iraq.
